THEFTS FROM UNSECURED VEHICLES LEAD POLICE WEEK

From Maplewood Police today:

March 8, 2017; Theft from Vehicle; At approximately 4 PM a male entered an unsecured vehicle on Camptown Rd and removed a cell phone.

March 10, 2017; Arrest; While on a muli-officer traffic detail in the area of Maplewood Ave and Baker St, officers observed a male driving while using his cellular phone.  The officers conducted a motor vehicle stop and found that the driver , 28 year old Martin Christie of New York had an active warrant for his arrest.  He was placed under arrest for the warrant and was issued several summons.

March 11, 2017: Theft from Auto; Between 11:45 Am and 12:15 PM a purse was removed from an unsecured vehicle on Boyden Parkway.

March 14, 2017; Attempted Vehicle Theft; During the overnight hours, a vehicle parked in an unsecured garage on Springfield Ave was entered and damage consistent with an attempted theft was caused to the ignition.
