TOWNSHIP CONSIDERING NEW PORT-A-POTTY RESTRICTIONS

After the recent passage of an ordinance limiting the use and placement of portable storage units, or PODS, the Township Committee is now planning to consider new restrictions on portable toilets.

Often used when construction is being done on homes, the port-a-potties can be seen in front yards and driveways, a situation TC Member Frank McGehee finds problematic. He raised the issue at Tuesday's TC meeting.

"It is unpleasing walking around our town to see port-a-potties on front lawns," McGehee said.

The TC agreed to review the matter with Mayor Vic Deluca suggesting it be reviewed first by the Code Enforcement Committee. "I think we have to find out what is the standard practice," the mayor said, later adding, "you're absolutely right, they're all over the place."
